Announcing Our Upcoming Season

Welcome to NMC’s 55th Season! This year, we invite you into worlds where sound moves through time, memory, and body. From surreal musical encounters to internationally celebrated works, every performance is designed to challenge and expand our understanding of what a musical performance can be.

We open with a portrait of South African composer Andile Khumalo, whose intricate music blends African traditions, European modernism, and the energy of Johannesburg. Other highlights include Mystery of Clock, a theatrical confluence of light, sound, and movement, Black Box Music with its giant-screen spectacle of a percussionist’s hands, a Boulez tribute, and the second of three premieres by NMC Composer-in-Residence Rashaan Allwood. In partnership with Tapestry Opera, we present Ana Sokolović’s exceptional work Love Songs, a meditation on love and loss.

The season closes with the third edition of our Future Resonance Festival, a national platform for cross-cultural creation, filled with performances, panel discussions, and youth workshops.

It is a season of musical depth and discovery, and of the joy found in connection between artists, audiences, and the sublime unknown.

We’ll save you a seat!

Forward in music,
