New Music Concerts is looking for new board members!

Our Board:
NMC is seeking qualified candidates to serve on its volunteer Board of Directors. We are looking for Board members who will demonstrate a strong commitment to our mission, embodying our values through effective governance and oversight, and who share our passion for adventurous music for everyone.

Our Board of Directors is made up of professionals from within and outside the music community, and provides ongoing leadership and strategic direction to the organization. Directors are chosen for their diversity of skills, experience, and knowledge. NMC’s Board understands the values and mission of the organization and provides leadership, direction, and accountability to ensure the organization continues to provide the services needed and valued in the contemporary music community.

Our Board is responsible for the overall stewardship of the organization, and to oversee the implementation of the organization’s mandate and vision.

NMC is prioritizing board members with the following experience:
- Fundraising & Development
- Non-Profit Law
- Board Leadership

Considerations in appointing Board members include:
- A prospective candidate’s ability to articulate and further develop NMC’s leadership in the community;
- The ability to support the work of the organization financially by offering guidance to sources of support within the community, in government foundations, corporations and individuals;
- Time available to commit to the organization;
- Experience on boards of community non-profit organizations;
- Regional representation and perspectives;
- Diversity of perspective.

Board Member Accountabilities:

Time Commitment: Dedicate approximately 3 hours quarterly to Board meetings, and up to an additional 3 hours to committee meetings as needed. Time requirements for Committee roles may vary depending on the specific responsibilities and needs of each committee or leadership role.

Board Meetings: Attend at least three Board meetings a year and one Annual General Meeting.

Committees: Join and participate in Board committees and ad hoc committees as needed.

Digital Proficiency: Demonstrate computer and technology skills for efficient communication and document review, as this is primarily a virtual role.

Active Participation: Engage in decision-making, attendance of NMC shows and events.
